The new & improved Tink

I've been a collector of Alice in Wonderland for about 20 years now.  I have everything from the teapots to the Royal Dalton figurines (thanks to my sis).  I've never been one for the clothes or the dolls (I never got over the doll episode of Night Gallery!).

With that being said, my latest Disney obsession is quite unusual.  I’ve developed a new love for Tinkerbell, It happened quite innocently.  I was at Disneyland in early May when there was a horrible afternoon rain shower.  With the rain pouring down around me, I jotted into the closest Disney Park store looking for a jacket with a hood.  It was there that I found the cutest Tinkerbell jacket (yes, I had to pay $80,000 because I was inside the park, but remember, I was desperate), bought it and returned to my adventures in the park.  Within minutes I was in love.

The folks at Disney have decided to revamp Tinkerbell….including her name which has been shortened to Tink.  Seems that young girls were focusing all their love on the Princesses and a couple of characters had been pushed to the back of the line.  A team of Imagineers were assembled and thus we now have a new and improved Tink.  She even has a new movie, Tinkerbell, available on DVD.

The Tink clothing line is cute and hip.  They’ve moved beyond the standard silk-screened character on a t-shirt to designing a clothing line with patterns and collages.

Last week, my sister and I attended an event that started at 3AM and went through 4PM.  I pulled up to the event sporting my Tink sweat pants, green & pink Tink hoodie and “the“ jacket that started this madness.  As the morning turned into a warm afternoon, I removed my jacket and hoodie to reveal….the Tink tank top.

I know the family intervention is coming….I saw it on my sister’s face.  So let me start here….My name is GrammaDisney and I’m a Tink-addict.
