Name: Ezra's mom.

Hello everyone! My name is Paola and I am a babyholic. First step to recovery, yes? I am quite obsessed over this new family attraction. His name is Ezra, Ezra Joaquin. He was born on November 16 to two quite liberal know-it-alls. Having read every book we thought we knew what we were getting ourselves into but as you can imagine, we were wrong. Ezra is the first grandchild in both families, so you can imagine where the fun begins. Every so often we have to remind everyone who this kid actually belongs to.

Let me fill you in on us. I'm 25, the oldest of 3 children -myself being the only female. We had a Catholic upbringing and yet my parents managed to stay fairly liberal. My husband is 28, the oldest of 3 boys and with very conservative, protestant parents. The fun can only go up from here.

Life in the Central Valley has been quite interesting. Unfortunately, we don't have many baby friendly places around here. We have to drive at least 45 minutes to get to the nearest Babies R'Us and the only baby boutique here is ridiculously overpriced. I'm a fan of BPA-FREE & PVC-FREE baby items and tend to stear towards organic baby food. I know exactly where to find it. And contrary to what many people believe, I don't consider myself too overprotective. I want Ezra to learn the world as it is, and I am aware that 40 hours a week I cannot be by his side to protest what I believe is wrong, therefore my trust issues have to be extinguished. It's great that we finally have a website where we can all communicate and finally rely on other mothers' wisdom who understand what it's like to be who we are, where we are.

At this point his personality is coming forth. He takes after both parents, which is: pretty crazy, curious, impatient, quiet and independent. He figures things and people out and uses them to his advantage...
