Jon & Kate Plus 8
Is anyone else out there in LOVE with Jon & Kate Plus 8?? It's a MUST at my house on Monday nights. If you haven’t seen the show, you are missing something special. Jon & Kate Gosselin have a set of twin girls (now 8 years old). They wanted one more and ended up with sextuplets (3 boys and 3 girls, now 4 years old). Jon & Kate Plus 8 is a reality show about raising a family of 8 children that runs on TLC Monday nights. The family is so real and honest. They yell and scream and have good moments and very bad moments…all in front of the cameras. When I first saw the show I was a little taken back. Kate and Jon tend to “express themselves” loudly and sometimes it comes across mean or rude. What I realized after watching the show for a bit is these things happen in every family at some point or another, theirs just happens to be on TV for the world to see. I couldn’t do it. I would HATE to see my life as it really was on TV for everyone to discuss, rehash and probably thrash. What Jon and Kate Gosselin are doing takes courage. Although we’ve seen Jon and Kate struggle over the years financially, the TV show has become a source of income that includes guest speaking engagements. If you wander around the internet long enough, you’ll see people who think negatively about this family “exploiting” their children for profit. I think Jon & Kate are brilliant. They aren’t exploiting their children; they’ve found a way to run a household….a very large household and both manage to stay home with the children and raise them. My hats off to them!! They love God, each other and their children and have done so with courage and conviction. Honestly, I don’t know how they do it and stay sane (the sane part is just an assumption on my part!) If you call my house on Monday night and I don’t answer, you now know I’m home glued to the set watching Jon and Kate and those amazing 8.

I agree -- that show is really cute! I think Jon & Kate are really brave, too... there's no way I'd want my family televised "warts and all" -- but they manage to do it. I also have no idea how they took care of 6 newborns at once -- that's INSANE!
I'm not sure if I would be able to stop crying if I had to take care of 6 newborns. They did have lots of help but sometimes having help is more work than you want or need.
