I waffled over this one for months while I was pregnant, as I knew I was expecting a boy. I polled as many mothers of boys as I could and found that very few had had their sons circumcised. I finally decided against it for the following reasons: 1) we live in a society where we bathe daily so hygeine is not an issue; 2) it's not part of my religion; 3) boys don't shower in the gym at school any more 4) it's a horrible and painful thing to subject a 2-day old infant to. Once I told my physician of my decision, he told me he had three sons and none of them were circumcised. That helped, too. I couldn't believe people were actually willing to do this so their sons would "look like Daddy." What a crock. I always felt I made the right choice. However, my son is now almost 16 and he's not very happy with me about it. So, there you go.
Well, we had the exact same reasons you did to not. We couldn't find one legitimate reason why we should. I figure, if he grows up and wants to live without it, he'd be old enough to ask for it and to understand how his body will be "modified" . Therefore, until that time comes, he will remain as God intended -with a turtleneck.
